GLYCOLIC POLYMER & GLYCOLIC POLYMER CREME

Glycolic Acid Polymer
a safe, legal alternative
to Glycolic Acid

What is Glycolic Acid?
Glycolic Acid is derived from the fruit sugar acid. It is a member of the Alpha Hydroxy Acid family.
Some of the most well-known are citric acid from citrus fruit, lactic acid from milk,
and tartaric acid from wine. In past times, women have used a variety of AHA's to smooth
and soften the skin. Cleopatra's legendary smooth and beautiful skin is thought to have
been attributed to her penchant for milk baths. Camel milk perhaps?

Is Glycolic Acid Safe?
Yes, it is a 100% non-toxic substance. The FDA has given it an OK in smaller concentrations
for the general public for home use. No prescription is needed as it is not considered a drug.
Glycolic products can safely be used i the sun. The are no undesirable side-effects when
used as directed.

Our lab has re-engineered Nature's work of art (Glycolic) to be more precise in its effect
deep in the skin. By linking Glycolic Acid (AHA) molecules into strands, they penetrate the
skin along the lines of propagation of the skin's natural polymer, breaks into its individual
molecule units and interacts more precisely with the skin's structure.

Since Glycolic Acid is a natural intermediate in the conversion of the amino acid serine into
glycine in the body, adding Glycolic Acid to the system will suppress the production
of seine while stimulating the production of glycine. Collagen and elastin are 30% glycine.
So the use of Glycolic Polymer will more effectively supply Glycolic Acid to the area where it
will do the most good in the production of collagen and elastin (at the fibroblast).

Just a serine is suppressed by the presence of Glycolic Polymer, so is serine protease (the
enzyme that degrades elastin). Degradation and fragmentation of the elastin fibers are
markedly increased in a variety of pathological conditions and are an integral part of age-
associated degenerative changes in the skin. Glycolic Polymer blocks this process.

Glycolic Polymer is also effective against acne. Because of its polymeric nature, it more
directly influences the epidermal keratinization process rather than exerting a direct
keratolytic effect as does the straight Glycolic or other AHA's. Acne vulgaris is caused by
altered patterns of follicular keratinization. Glycolic Polymer corrects this because it targets,
as an original polymer, the infundibulum portion of the pilosebaceous unit.
This blocks the closing off of the comedones.
